Job description: Mission Critical Engineer - Networking

In this role you are part of the Mission Critical Team, in which you can use your technical skills widely. Because as a T-Shaped professional you have your specialism in Networking, you get the opportunity to take a leading role in this. You are in frequent contact with your direct colleagues for substantive guidance. The work will be carried out on the basis of Service Level Agreements and ITIL processes and you will participate in an on-call shift.

Your responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the performance and continuity of the infrastructure;
  • Remote management of network infrastructures;
  • Resolving incidents and disruptions;
  • Monitoring the performance and continuity of the infrastructure;
  • You analyze the possibilities, in accordance with the customer's wishes;
  • You give our customers solicited and unsolicited advice about offering sustainable technical solutions;
  • You help your colleagues within the team to further deepen and broaden their network knowledge.

What do we expect?

  • You have worked with various vendors (preferably Juniper, Fortinet, HPE, VMware and Cisco Systems) and are familiar with their tooling.
  • You have in-depth knowledge and experience of the full range of network and infrastructure concepts (including site to site VPN technologies, switching (vLANs, STP, stacking, etc.) and routing (OSPF, MPLS, etc.), enterprise LAN - SDWAN and WAN data networks, etc)
  • You have a lot of experience with network analysis, problem solving and error diagnosis;
  • A good understanding of and practical experience with Enterprise Microsoft, VMware environments and other software defined networks and security such as VMware, SDWAN etc.;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Visio and experience in creating network documentation;
  • Experience in a Service Desk role or a remote customer support role with knowledge of ITIL methodologies.

Job requirements

Do you have:

  • A completed IT study;
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Networking specialist in complex environments;
  • Knowledge and experience with remote infrastructure management in a multi-client IT organization is an advantage;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language;
  • Thorough technical insight and a service-oriented attitude;
  • Self-starting and self-learning attitude.
